Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Anthony S. Leno, who serves patients throughout the State of New York.

Dr. Leno is a board-certified, New York-based emergency physician. He is affiliated with several hospitals in his local area, including Bon Secours Community Hospital, Jacobi Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Medical Center-Yonkers, and Northwell Huntington Hospital in New York. With over three decades of experience, he focuses on the immediate decision making and action necessary to prevent death or any further disability both in the pre-hospital setting by directing emergency medical personnel and in the emergency department.

Academically, Dr. Leno graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1989. He then went on to perform his residency in emergency medicine at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in 1992. 

A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), he is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). ABEM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of  Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of acutely ill patients with advanced cardiac life support, trauma, and the management of other life-threatening medical issues.

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. An emergency physician is a physician who works at an emergency department to care for acutely ill or injured patients. They care for unscheduled and undifferentiated patients of all ages.
